Anna Silk was born in Fredericton as the child of Peter Silk, an academic, and Ilkay Silk, who is an actress director, producer, playwright, educator, as well as Director of Drama of Drama at St. Thomas University. Her father is from Britain and her mother is an "Turkish ex-pat from Cyprus who is now living in England."
