Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder, professionally Winona Ryder, was born on Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her after her hometown. Michel Horowitz' father was editor and author, as were Cynthia Palmer and her mother. Ryder believes she is Jewish has a connection to Ryder's Jewish father. Her half-siblings are younger, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder as well as her entire family moved to California's Mendocino County at the age of seven. Ryder was only seven years old. They didn't have electricity. Ryder was an avid bookworm and would spend her days studying books since she had no television. Ryder, then 12, enrolled at the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in 1983. Lucas was dismissed in the year 1986, and Ryder who was only 15, landed an acting job as a lead actor. Ryder experienced bullying at high school. She hoped acting could bring change. Unfortunately, that did not take place. Still, she kept chasing her goals. In 1988, it was the year that Tim Burton released Beetlejuice that gave her her first big break. Ryder played parts that proved successful in several movies. In 1993 she received two nominations in the Academy Awards. One of the nominations was for her part In The Age of Innocence.
