It was a blend of reggaeton and pop which not only brought attention to Latin Music but also reggaeton. Billboard's Top 100 featured two songs that were Spanish mostly, and four in 2016. The Despacito album reached its peak success in 2017, 19 songs mainly composed in Spanish reached into the Top 100. The number grew to 41 in 2020. Justin Bieber's bilingual remix Despacito was released in 2017. Soon after, popular artists started collaborating with reggaeton performers. Drake collaborated with Bad Bunny for MIA (2018), and Madonna was a part of Maluma to create Medellin. From the beginning of 2020, some reggaeton musicians were unhappy with the way the genre was shifting towards popular. Rauw Alajandro is a part of a new generation looking to alter the trajectory of. The genre often included elements of electronic dance music as well as other genres.
